About this Scheme
PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) is a flagship Government of India agriculture initiative approved in July 2025 to strengthen agricultural productivity and farmer incomes in 100 selected agricultural districts across the country. The scheme aims to improve irrigation facilities, promote crop diversification, strengthen post-harvest storage infrastructure, expand access to agricultural credit, and encourage sustainable farming practices. The program integrates multiple existing agriculture-related schemes to deliver focused development at the district level. For potato farmers, the scheme is particularly important because it supports cold storage, warehousing, irrigation, value addition, and market linkages that directly impact potato production and profitability. Approximately 1.7 crore farmers are expected to benefit from the initiative over a six-year implementation period.
