₹18,000 Crore Released to 9 Crore Farmers in 21st PM-KISAN Installment
The government has released the 21st instalment of the Government of India’s PM-KISAN scheme, transferring around ₹18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of nearly 9 crore eligible farmers.
Each eligible farmer family receives ₹2,000 under this instalment, one of the three annual payments that sum up to ₹6,000 per year under PM-KISAN.
The support aims to help small and marginal farmers manage farming expenses, buy seeds and fertilisers, and prepare for the next cropping season.
Since its launch in 2019, PM-KISAN has disbursed more than ₹3.70 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families — making it one of the largest direct-benefit transfer programmes globally.
The scheme uses Aadhaar-linked bank accounts and digital verification (e-KYC), helping ensure funds reach genuine beneficiaries without intermediaries.
For farmers, this payment offers timely cash flow that can support inputs for upcoming sowing seasons. Traders and input-sellers may see increased demand for seeds, fertilisers, and irrigation goods as funds hit rural bank accounts. Exporters and supply-chain players can expect steadier supply from smallholders supported by this scheme.
