India's potato industry has received a major boost with ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla releasing four new Kufri potato varieties. Notified by the Ministry of Agriculture, these varieties are designed to improve productivity, strengthen processing industries and enhance farmers' incomes.
The newly released varieties are Kufri Ratan, Kufri Tejas, Kufri Chipbharat-1 and Kufri Chipbharat-2, catering to both the fresh consumption and potato processing segments.
