Market reports indicate nearly 135 trucks arrived recently, including heavy carry-forward stock from the previous day. Traders say current arrivals are far beyond the mandi’s handling capacity and actual demand.

2. Prices Continue to Weaken
Due to excessive supply, even good-quality potatoes are struggling to attract buyers. Reported wholesale rates remain under pressure:

• Chipsona: ₹500–₹600 per 50 kg

• Surya: ₹500–₹700 per 50 kg

• 37 Store: ₹350–₹450 per 50 kg

• LR (UP/Punjab): ₹400–₹500 per 50 kg

• Diamond: ₹400–₹550 per 50 kg

3. Traders and Farmers Facing Losses

Commission agents and traders are reportedly under stress as falling prices are leading to disputes and delayed sales. Large quantities of stock are moving slowly, while rising temperatures are increasing the risk of spoilage and wastage.

4. Market Sentiment Remains Weak

Market participants believe arrivals need tighter control to stabilize prices. According to trade discussions, current conditions can sustainably handle only around 50–70 trucks daily. Rising diesel costs and transport-related expenses are also adding pressure on the potato trade ecosystem.
